Calcium sand is safe in direct contact with heating elements as it conducts heat well and it is suitable for use with heat mats or cables buried under it to a shallow depth. It inhibits the growth of fungus and mould and makes mite infestation less likely.
The colouring makes spot cleaning both easy and simple. Clumps readily to wet waste material, drying it and preventing it from being spread throughout the enclosure.
