Jock Junior dog food has been scientifically formulated to give your puppy all of the nutrients they need to live a healthy and happy life. Give your best buddy a head start in life by ensuring all of their dietary requirements are fulfilled from puppyhood.

Just as babies are not miniature adults, puppies are not smaller, younger versions of dogs. The growth and development of a puppy is hard work, and special nutrition is required. Young dogs require a wholesome diet that is balanced and easy to digest and are especially sensitive to the effects of dietary deficiencies, toxins, and poor quality ingredients.

Jock Junior is scientifically formulated with your puppy’s health in mind, using only the highest quality ingredients, and containing everything your new pup needs to stay fit and healthy.

Because they lack the ability to digest large amounts of food at one time, it is important to divide a puppy’s diet into two or more meals. Feed your pup at least three meals per day up to 4 months of age. Dividing the meal into two meals is recommended after 4 months and has the added benefit of reducing the risk of bloating, especially in deep-chested dogs.

Like with other pets, it is important to ensure that your pup has access to a fresh and clean source of water throughout the day to minimise the risk of becoming dehydrated.

At what age do puppies start drinking water:

Puppies can start drinking water when their teeth start growing which is around 3-4 weeks old. Once a pup's teeth start growing in they have already got all of the nutrients they needed from Mumma dog's milk, and they are ready to start eating food and drinking water!

Puppies are more prone to becoming dehydrated compared to adult dogs because of an adult dog's greater need for water. You should always ensure that there is fresh and clean water available for your puppy at all times. If you limit or restrict your puppy's water intake, they may drink too quickly when a water source becomes available, which can lead to your pup vomiting or other side effects. One of the most common symptoms of dehydration is very little energy.

Why feed dogs good quality food?

It’s important because one definite way any pet owner can affect the longevity and quality of life for their pet is by providing the highest quality food they can. The quality of the food you feed makes a direct difference in your pet’s health.

Quality is the keyword, quality of the ingredients that go into the making of the pet food you feed. Better quality foods made with better quality ingredients provide a better quality of life. The result is fewer skin conditions, less itching, fewer ear infections, shinier coats, less inflammatory bowel disease, better muscling and muscle tone, stronger bones, more energy, better temperament and other immediate physical benefits of better nutrition. As a result of better nutrition, your dogs are happier and feel better overall.

Better nutrition provides an overall boost in the immune system and improved health over the long term with less stress on the pet’s organs.

The kidneys and liver have to work very hard to remove toxins such as chemicals, preservatives, dyes and other non-supportive elements of the pet’s food out of their body. At the same time their body is working so hard to remove these, they are working from a sometimes malnourished state because the food they’re eating is full of fillers or by-products that make them feel full but does not provide the nourishment needed for a healthy body.
